Unpacking the Interstitium - an annotated discussion of the recent NYT article on the Interstitium. It is likely that this article is generating a buzz amongst your patients, colleagues and friend groups. Michael will unpack the “new” research findings in light of other perspectives that predate western science and also welcome the learning and language that this recent science offers us in our work. It’s a complex bag (pun intended, lots of fascial researchers describe the body as being composed of nested fascial bags.).
The article is at turns inspiring and beautiful while also deeply frustrating for its western science solipsism. Some metaphors are elegant and revealing while others are clumsy and misleading. Some assertions are straight up false and the implications of the interstitium extend far beyond medical devices and drugs.
