COMMUNITY LECTURE
From the Brainstem to the Cervical Plexuses: A Continuity of Expression

Online - Zoom

The body does not conform to the categorical structures we have for the autonomic nervous system. The origins of the ANS in the brainstem exit at the cranium at the jugular foramen and immediately present as a blending of sympathetic and parasympathetic tissues. I have found understanding the nerve expressions in the cervical region to be immensely helpful in working with all sorts of nervous system issues, including some cases of dysautonomia, chronic pain patterns, and other symptom sets that defy easy diagnosis (another sometimes problematic category). Interestingly, in East Asian medicine there is an acupuncture point category, Celestial Windows or Windows to the Sky, that are located around these plexuses.

This lecture will break this strange yet clinically relevant region down for you in an accessible way that you can bring into your treatment room.
